Pens are wonderful, versatile, and travel well. This is a GREAT price, I recommend 42 inch high, at least 2 pens connected together, to make a nice big area. These are also VERY useful to reinforce a deck railing or inside to contain your puppy
petco gates – get 2 gates – 42″ or taller
You will want to brush your dog often to remove excess hair. They will look more groomed and if you follow a nice routine you will eliminate finding hair elsewhere in your home
Plastic bowls are not recommended, it can discolor and lighten their nose pigment. Non skid metal and heavy glass or ceramic bowls are preferred
We really like pressed rawhide bones and you will need lots of natural chew bones especially when they are puppies. WE DO NOT recommend any plastic chew bones or ANYTHING made in CHINA – Be careful and read your labels
DOG FOOD – the most important product
All information can be found in our PUPPY MANUAL. We always recommend rotating dog food brands and flavors once you have established the best foods for your dog. We avoid anything with the first ingredient as “meal”. Beef meal, lamb meal, fish meal etc… Additionally GSD’s are usually sensitive to Chicken so we do avoid chicken formulas. We recommend the protein as the first ingredient and try to supplement with real meat. ALSO– Never any puppy formulas for German Shepherds, adult formulas ONLY
FYI – Unfortunately most dog food brands consistently change their formulas so be aware of that as well.
